TEENS & 20s

I was teaching imaginary group fitness classes in my parent’s basement years before I taught a real one.  My passion for diet, exercise and wellness blossomed in my teens and is when my studies began.    

I started teaching group fitness in my early 20’s as a part time employee at a couple local gyms.  

From there, I transitioned to sub-contracting for the municipal government; providing public classes at local arenas.   

Then, I went on my own; renting different spaces by the hour in the winter and offering outdoor classes in the parks during the summer.

Those first 10 years, I trained part-time while employed, full-time by the federal government.

Besides working with some great people, I developed many useful skills (presenting, facilitating, designing and delivering training programs etc. ) that contribute greatly to the services I offer today.


I opened my boutique studio (a converted one room school house) in my early 30’s and resigned from my government job to run for (y)our Vitality full time. 

Intimate group and personal training sessions indoors, outdoors and in people’s homes continued as I expanded the nutrition and wellness coaching components of my business.      

Some closest to me were unable to understand why I would leave the position and security of my government job to follow my passion.  Although their concerns fed some of my own fears and doubts, I trusted and followed my heart anyways.

I’ve had positive supports to draw on when needed too.  People who understand my desire, believed in my approach and encouraged me to follow my dreams.  I’m so very grateful for them.  


Building Healthy Habits Wellness Program

My personal journey led me to relocate from Chatham-Kent, Ontario to Montreal, Quebec in my 40s.  Where I took some time to rethink the next chapter of my business.  

One thing was clear after 20 years of helping people build healthier diet, exercise and lifestyle habits.  

CHANGE IS HARD – No matter how much we want it  

I wanted to know the best ways of making it easier.

Building Healthy Habits™ is the result.

I’ve spent 8 years researching, developing, and refining the BHH™ program.  While continuing to coach and train part-time.

I piloted the BHH™ proof of concept online 6 years ago and have since offered the program in person both out of my home and at a local hospital’s Wellness Centre.

My professional journey has provided knowledge, skills and abilities that make me an effective coach for diet, exercise and life balance. 

BUT I’m convinced it’s my personal journey that gives me the perspective to truly excel at it.  I know first hand how hard change really is and I happily practice, imperfectly, what I teach every day. 

It works for me; it works for my clients and it can work for you too.
